What a year! For the most part everyone I spoke to, from
tournament directors, to league players, to new shufflers all enjoyed the
season. I personally believe it is all predicated on all of us assisting in
everyone having fun. We recruited almost 100 new members again this year. Good
job all! Our tournament participation was good and in one instance was up 40%.
Sadly, my two years as president of the largest district in Arizona is coming to
a close. It has been both terrifying and exhilarating, sometimes both on the
same day! I am proud to present two women who will lead us over the next four
years as they were both instrumental to our success these past years. Debra
Besaw and Marilyn Sanders as incoming president and first vice president will
bring and unparalleled level of organization and provide skills and perspective
in a way that we will all appreciate. Through their leadership. District IV has
a bright future and I believe moderate to substantial growth can be attained.
Finally, in closing, I wish all of you good health, make your take outs, make a
hammer now and then, and lastly, stay out of the kitchen!
